Photo of Winston getting her head rubbed this morning.
(Notice the big smile on her face)
There has been considerable concern in the blog community regarding the well being of Winston the pig. This morning in order to put some of those concerns to rest, Winston decided to have a photo shoot.
Pictured above is my dear wife holding a dated card. We thought about holding up a current newspaper but the date would not have been visible. In the bowl in front of Winston, is some new shelled corn compliments of one of Winston’s friends on facebook. If you’re interested in being a friend of Winston, just look under Winston Randolph.
Did you know, pigs are the 4th smartest animals behind Chimps, dolphins and elephants? I have another photo of Winston I am not going to post on the blog…if you’re interested, I can e-mail it to you. It is a photo of her and I, she is laying her head on my lap while I rub her head.
This past Sunday, Winston, my wife and I took a walk down our road. It has been 2 months since our last walk, and she’s almost more than I can handle if she doesn’t want to cooperate. I was able to get the extra large (see photo) harness on her, and the walk went fine. To be perfectly honest, I had mixed feelings about being seen in public walking a 150 pound hog on a leash.
I read the other day, that pigs can live into their teens, under the right conditions. I also know she has the potential to get 750 pounds (or more).
Well, it’s time for a nap. I brought home 10 bags of corn for Iowa’s favorite pig and I think I pulled a muscle in my back.
By the way, I think it would be fun to have a Christmas card shower for Winston…drop me a note and I can get you her mailing address.

oh my sweet girl, alive and smiling!
send us the other pic please
I just discovered your blog. Oh, joy! I am so glad I did. Not just because I’m also residing in Corn Country, but because I know this is a blog I’m going to want to follow.
I’m not on Facebook yet, but I think I might have finally found a reason to register. Bless ya.
Thank goodness! That post with the p-i-g r-o-a-s-t-e-r was a little ominous!! (BTW, I spelled it so that Winston wouldn’t be worried. Don’t tell her what it says…)
I would love to have a Winston Christmas!! Please send me her address, and I will send her a card!!
