This is a photo of one of our 3 crab apple “pollinators” Many varieties of apples require a second tree near by in order to produce.
Here are some photos of our apple trees gearing up for another season. Every flower is a potential apple, if the bees do their job.
This picture is from a Red Delicious just outside of our kitchen window, which we planted in 2000. We planted this one before the idea of an orchard had entered our mind.
I realize this will be a short post. I didn’t have too much on my mind other than wanting to share these pictures with those of you that read the blog.

I love the picture of Mom :0) She’s a beautiful flower among the blossoms.
Thanks for the tip about the fence….I’ll keep that in mind when I’m stealing your mushrooms! :0P

I would like to use your digital picture appletreesinbloom2008-002.jpg on a flyer and our web site. I would need your permission to publish and also to modify the photo by integrating a photo of our red paper delta trap and red plastic delta trap into the picture. Normally, we just use photos we take ourselves, but yours is really pretty. I do not have a budget for licensing but can offer you printed credits and link on both our flyer and web site and a special price on product.
For your information, our monitoring traps are very effective, especially for apple orchard pests. Several farms in Australia us our products, which is where your orchard is, correct me if I am wrong about that.
I am also interested in media shots of other fruit trees in spring and mid summer. Extreme closeups of pest damage and pests at work are welcome, too. If you need them identified we can try to do that for you.
Please send me an email with your permission and terms as soon as possible. Thank you.
