Walk into The Surf Ballroom ( Clear Lake Iowa) and you will be overwhelmed by the number of autographed photos of musical legends stretching back into the 1950’s. We were there in 2005 to see Derick St Holmes (Ted Nuget/ Stranglehold) on stage w/ my roofing buddy Al R. playing backup base guitar .

What an awesome day we had today. I literally felt like I stepped back in time. We spent the day looking for traces of the 160 yr old Military road route that I hope to retrace by foot in 2008.
