“You can take the boy off the farm, but you can’t take the farm out of the boy”
This first post will have to be very short because today is our week to host the house church….and we are expecting guests in about an hour.
I grew up on a farm from about the age of 12 until I graduated high school, move out on my own, met my wife, started a family, when our children were in their teen years we decided living in the country might be a great place to finish raising them….so we found a wonderful old farmstead, very run down and tired looking, mostly in need of TLC and moved back on a farm. In addition to a large 2 story house, there were several outbuildings…(2 old barns, both over 100 yrs old now), and 4 1/2 acres to putter on. We planted 120 apple trees about 7 years ago now, had our first real crop of apples this past Fall. As I mention in my “about” tab, we also wanted to open a bed and breakfast (which we did in 2006) and host live music festivals /barn dances/concerts in our orchard. (Which we’ve been doing also since 2002) There are so many fun things going on in our lives I wanted to start a blog to talk about it. Anyway, this blog is our place to talk about our life in the country. Thanks for reading!

Hi, I live in IA and am kind of a blogging-idiot. I’ve been looking through your blog to find out where your B&B is for a visit, but I can’t find it. Any help?
